We have 2 cars and do not drive much nowadays as compared to when younger. Prefer to Fly. Took out their Pay as You Drive Comprehensive Insurance, Good product, well priced and suits us perfectly.

In process of switching car Insurance over to them for 2 cars. On line sign up process works ok but post that it is a Pandoras Box. You either get inundated with phone calls post any on line process or the opposite where they promise to call you back at a more convenient and pre arranged time and don't. No apology etc just ignored. Seems their whole process built around what suits them not what is perhaps best for us, their customer. Maybe being a bit older we have a different perception of Customer Service, with AS felt they do what they want, not always what they say they will or what we need. Bit of a life lesson.

I was given plenty of information by Mathew, had all my questions answered clearly and when he said he would call back he did on time. However, when I asked to be put through to get a quote for personal contents insurance there was an enormous problem. I have had contents insurance for 58 years in rented and owned properties with never a problem but when I requested a quote yesterday I was declined. The first time we have ever had any insurance declined and without a reason. I had a car insurance policy earlier for around 5 years and only cancelled last year due to the sale of my car, never a problem. I had always been very happy with the deal and kept my side. I now live in the safest, most secure premises ever. Our unit door is locked, the whole building is securely locked and it is an over 65's gated community on top of all that security. So why was just a quote declined? It beggars belief. To say I was unhappy was a total understatement. It made me question my decision to trust and hand over money and take on our new car insurance policy with Australian Seniors Insurance.

The insurance was considerably lower than my previous insurer (who had increased premiums considerably). So I decided to go with Australian Seniors Insurance for home and contents

I wanted a quote online to achieve the best discount offered (30%) for home and contents insurance. The system told me to call customer service. The system could not complete my quote and did not tell me why so that I could reconsider and amend my selections. I then had to answer all the same questions to the customer service team member taking considerable time. I waited 4 days but did not receive the quote. So, I emailed customer care and asked for details to be included on the discounts and a copy of the questions and my responses. They emailed me a pdf of the quote but did not provide information on the discounts or a copy of the questions and my answers. So, I spoke to a team member again and he informed me I had been sent the wrong quote document. He sent the quote document that enabled me to view all of the questions and responses, but did not show the application of the discounts. I went back online and completed the quote and accepted/paid for the policy. The Certificate of Insurance also did not show what discounts had been applied! Note my previous insurer clearly shows the discounts applied and as this is a commercial term, I would have expected the same from Australian Seniors Insurance. Finally, the questions on security features do not allow for security screen doors with deadlocks (the only allowance is for windows). The questions also do not allow for non-monitored/back to base alarms systems.

Did not have long to wait before being able to talk to a consultant. The locally based consultant, (Sydney), was well informed and presented well. She very easy to talk to and made it easy to understand the details. I was quckly able to tailor the quote to suit my needs and become confident in the product.
