  • approve repairs (unless essential to prevent further loss); or
  • dispose of damaged property.

What happens next?

Quote

  • We’ll arrange for a trusted repairer/builder near you to inspect the damage, organise any emergency repairs and write a report.

Access

  • Our claims team and assessor will review quotes and damage and thereafter give approval to repair the damage or replace your goods if the event is covered by the policy.

Outcome

  • Repairs approved: We’ll arrange repairs or provide a settlement. Excess(es) may apply.

    • Home insurance: The builder contacts you and starts work after excess is paid.
    • Contents insurance: The supplier arranges replacements; excess is paid to us or deducted from your settlement.
  • Below excess: Your policy doesn’t cover you for any claim amount below any excess(es) that you must pay.
