Diane was very nice indeed. She was following your rules asking for our Bank A/C number before we had made our final decision. We would have preferred to call back with our number when we were sure we wanted to take out the policy. Diane explained all the reasons but we still would have preferred to call back later. Very helpful and friendly. Explained about the cover, though I could not quite take it all in, I suppose reading it actually makes a difference, rather than being told about a whole lot of the cover, the options, the cooling off period, etc I was confusing to take it all in as I said. I think I will need to have my son help me go through the PDF with me so that I can make better sense of it all. However, Samantha was very willing and helpful and took the time to explain as best she could.

Very friendly and helpful staff member. Later I realised I had an additional question - does the policy cover public liability? I and rang back to get the answer, which is no. I want to switch from another company, Petplan, but they cover public liability so now I'm not sure whether to switch or not. Maybe insurance companies should be more upfront about whether they cover public liability, which only a few of them do. Also, consumer organisations and comparison websites should include this issue. Aust consumers assn and the 'compare' site I used don't. I think it's a big issue, being sued could be bankrupting, whereas big pet bills would be unlikely to.
