I was pleased with all aspects of the process. But dissapointed I had to cancel my policy, over the vacancy period. It was a fine print issue where I my projected occupancy just fell outside (by 10 days) of the policy conditions.

Probally unintentional, The online applications dont allow enough flexibility for cases that dont fit the template. In trying to massage box entries to relate to the questions, inevitably they may fail. For example. Insurance is for a full year.(house fire and theft) A noncompliance that may only exist for two weeks in that period can result in failure to gain the policy. Or create enough uncertainty to cancel it. Such a example is university courses where the semester time may create a house unoccupancy period just outside the fine print limits.( even though the house remains fullystocked ,connected to services, receives lawn cutting, visited weekly to collect mails and checked and has operating night security lights). Policy fine print doesnt distinguish ! Add to this Insurance may be sought in June 2022 and university entrance in first semester 2023, may not even occur. Its all very competitive. Its hard to gaze into the future The thought that a highly unlikely claim that the policy makes so crystal clear (on the surface interpretation) will fail, is a problem for new applications It would be welcomed if more refinement of the house vacancy clauses could offer more then "one size fits all". For instance the policy if revised may define the difference between an operating house and one that is sitting empty without furniture or services.

Price was very competitive and the form was very easy to complete. However, I unfortunately got my start date wrong and had to phone them. I phoned on a Saturday and told them I wanted to start 2 days later. The lady was helpful and said that they would phone back on Monday. They duly did but the man did not merely accept I wanted to change the date, he started going through the entire process of all my details etc. etc. and said it would take a further 10 minutes. No initiative was shown, so I told him to forget it and I would just restart my application on line, which I did. This unfortunately spoilt my entire experience. Despite this the premium, cover, valuation and completing the applic. were exceptional

I will never understand why you charge more to an existing customer than you do for a new one - so much for customer loyalty!! Every time I get a renewal notice I have to go through this stupid pantomime where I input, as a new customer, the exact same details as on the renewal notice, and get a cheaper premium. I then have to spend twenty minutes talking to one of your employees, confirming everything you already have on file about me. The only thing this system does is make me think that if I'm going to put quote details in for you I might as well do it for AAMI, RAC, SGIO etc etc.
