At Australian Seniors, we believe in supporting the aging community of Australia in a number of ways, and a big area is healthcare. So, with that in mind, we are helping to encourage the best people into the healthcare and aged care industries by providing the Australian Seniors Aged Care Futures Grant.
Congratulations to our 2019 Australian Seniors Aged Care Futures Grant winner, Karen!
Karen is studying a Bachelor of Dementia Care at the University of Tasmania. As a working paramedic she hopes to expand her training to obtain a teaching or training position in order to provide further education and knowledge of Dementia. Through her compassionate nature and experience, she hopes that, with this extra knowledge, carers, paramedics and the like, can effectively care for those suffering from Dementia and allow them to still retain their sense of self. Karen’s submission reflects a true desire to improve the quality of people's lives, not only to those suffering with dementia and their families, but also to assist through the education and training of other healthcare providers.
We thank all applicants for their interest in the grant, wishing them the best for the future. We again congratulate Karen on winning this grant, and hope it enables her to further her drive and passion to not only educate others about Dementia Care, but also provide the much needed attention to those in her care.
The value of this grant is AUD $5,000 (total amount). This amount is paid as a one-off payment to the winner.
We have now started accepting applications for Australian Seniors Aged Care Futures Grant Program 2020 and welcome all students meeting the eligibility criteria to apply for the grant. See full grant terms and conditions.
